Intense ruby-red colour, with a complex aroma of mature red fruits and black berries from de wood with a light menthol tone and characters of vanilla and chocolate. On the palate this is a concentrated wine with body, with a good level of tannins so that a long conservation in the bottle could be achieved.

Ripe red and black fruit aromas mingle with leatherand spice, exquisitely balanced by wood notes evoking vanilla and toast.

Rating

Wine Spectator 90 points (Oct 15 2011) Very solid for the vintage, with crushed plum, fig and black current fruit woven with maduro tobacco and bittersweet cocoa. There’s a loam edge on the finish, but this stays solidly fleshy through the end. Drink now through 2013.—J.M.
