| Wine maker notes |
| The sunny nature of our Rose wine is a reflection of its landscape. Throughout California, the vineyards for this wine enjoyed a long growing season with warm days and cool nights. This variation in temperature produces grapes with bright, ripe fruit flavors and crisp acidity.
The Grenache grape has a naturally appealing sweetness that makes it the perfect varietal for our luscious Rose. Following harvest, we allowed the juice to stay in contact with the red skins just long enough to pick up a beautiful rose color and infuse delightful strawberry, raspberry and floral character to the wine. The grapes were then pressed off the skins and the juice was cold fermented in stainless steel tanks for one month to preserve the delicate flavors and aromas. We left a touch of residual sugar to the wine by arresting fermentation. Prior to bottling, we blended in a small amount of aromatic white wines to pop the nose and a touch of Merlot for complexity and spice. |
