| Grapes for this single-vineyard Verdicchio are harvested in the finest 37 acres of the 75-acre San Sisto vineyard, located at an altitude of just over 800 feet above sea level at Fazi’s estate in the Ancona province of the Marches region. The soil is notably stony, calcareous and well drained.
After a traditional fermentation on the skins, lasting approximately 12 days, the wine is aged 12 months in French oak barriques followed by a year in bottle before release. This extended aging results in a heightened elegance in the wine, combined with aromatic concentration, complexity of flavor and an impressive ability to age. |
