With its fresh, marine notes, CAMUS Ile de Re Fine Island is a perfect expression of the authentic style and qualities of Ile de Re Cognacs. The grapes have naturally higher iodine content than those harvested on the mainland. In addition, the island’s mild climate helps to bestow a truly individual character on the eaux-de-vie it produces.
Distilled on the lees to enhance the original flavors of the eaux-de-vie from which it is produced, Ile de Re Fine Island Cognac is then aged in an extremely damp cellar to add greater roundness, using lightly toasted oak barrels that provide an extremely delicate woody flavor.
Ideal straight, over ice or chilled, served with fish or seafood.

| The Ile de Re is widely, and justly, considered to be one of France’s most beautiful areas. Its extraordinarily mild climate and fertile soils have prompted humans to cultivate vines for many years. Now home to more than 400 hectares under the Cognac appellation, Ile de Re is the appellation’s most northerly point and yet enjoys the mildest conditions.
The nearby ocean is a fabulous temperature regulator, the spray is a source of flavor and the seaweed-rich soil is conducive to natural vine development. All these climactic elements combine to create a Cognac which has truly been sculpted by the ocean. |
