Tasting notes

Dark ruby red, the 2010 Bergström Vineyard Pinot Noir is perfumed with floral rose and violet aromatics that burst from the glass and mingle with ripe red cherry, black and red currants, oak spice and peppermint. With further aeration, the wine turns darker showing off aromas of incense, pipe tobacco and cedar. In the mouth, this wine is vibrant, juicy and interestingly youthful with complex and ripe fruit flavors of black raspberry, wild dark cherries, cassis, and dried beef with a wonderful veil of liquid mineral that glides across the silky smooth palate.

Wine Spectator 93 points (Oct 10 2012) Fresh and open-textured, with lovely transparency characterizing the plum and currant fruit, layering in hints of mineral, floral and spice notes as the finish dances on. Drink now through 2020.—H.S.
