Buena Vista Legendary Badge 2012

Buena Vista Legendary Badge 750ml 2012
Sku: 1842577

3 day lead-time required to confirm availability Why?

The story our founder is as long as it is colorful. One of California’s first sheriffs, Agoston Haraszthy was elected the Sheriff of San Diego County in 1850. He built the first jail and served two exciting years before moving north to pursue “purple gold” and the perfect terroir for fine wines. He found it in Sonoma County where he established Buena Vista Winery in 1857. It is his legacy that inspired this wine and the work of sheriffs everywhere that we honor with its release. Each individually numbered, limited edition bottle features an engraved, hand-applied metal label reminiscent of the first sheriff’s star pin worn by Count Agoston Haraszthy.

Opaque black appearance. Aroma is slightly closed down for the first few minutes, then it opens slightly, offering subtle scents of pine, poppy seed, eucalyptus, sawdust. Wow, this flavor profile is rich, keenly peppery, oaky/woody, cedar-like, sappy, plummy. Big finish is chewy in texture, juicy, ripe. Great Value

Wine maker notes
Buena Vista Legendary Badge is a powerful wine, brimming with personality. It’s authoritative and loyal, a bold combination of Petite Sirah, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Mourvedre, Grenache and Merlot. Like the men who are elected to serve their counties, our wine displays a robust magnetism that commands a room (or dinner table) and bridges the gap between traditional and extraordinary. Ripe red fruits abound, dominating the palate while integrated tannins provide great structure and offer an arrestingly vigorous mouthfeel.
